NOS has just reached an agreement to acquire the entire share capital of Mainroad, a leading company in the provision of outsourcing services for information technologies, thus strengthening its market position, particularly in the business segment.

This agreement, announced today, will allow NOS to offer its customers a more in depth and diverse offer of Cloud Computing, Business Continuity and IT Managed Services, supported by its own latest generation Data Centers.

According to Miguel Almeida, Executive Chairman of NOS, “the acquisition of Mainroad will enable NOS to take on a position of leadership in the provision of high added value services, in particular in the business segment where the company has been focusing strongly. The investment forms part of our convergence strategy, and marks a significant step in consolidating the position of NOS as a benchmark company in areas such as cloud computing or IT Managed Services, using its own equipment infrastructure”.

Through this transaction, NOS becomes an important player in a business category that is increasingly relevant and necessary in large scale companies and public institutions, as well as SMEs and for their professionals, contributing towards making them increasingly competitive and helping them to expand their businesses while at the same time stimulating the country’s economy.

The Mainroad acquisition is part of the investment plan announced by NOS, involving an amount of some one thousand million Euros over the next five years. By taking this step, NOS is strengthening its ability to design and implement solutions to manage technological infrastructures in order to ensure the highest levels of efficiency for its customers.

Mainroad is a leading company in the outsourcing of information technologies, supporting its customers in the use of the most efficient technological infrastructures. In 2013, Mainroad had turnover of 15.4 million Euros and EBITDA of 1.96 million Euros in the areas of IT and Data Management Services. The acquisition has an enterprise value of 14 million Euros.
