

Sustainalytics evaluates NOS’ risk
In October 2022, NOS obtained an ESG Risk Rating of 15.0, and was evaluated by Sustainalytics as having a “Low” risk of suffering a relevant financial impact from environmental, social and governance factors.


NOS improves Bloomberg gender equality index score
NOS was among the list of members of the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for the second year running, with an above average score and an increase of 19.41 percentage points compared to the previous year. In the 2023 GEI, NOS scored 84.11%, achieving a better result than the overall index average (73%), the Communications sector (73,53%) and Portuguese companies taking part (81.77%). SBTi validates NOS' emissions reduction targets
In december 2021, NOS won approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its objectives to reduce greenhouse gases. Thus, by 2030, NOS commits to reducing scope 1 and 2 emissions by 90% (emissions related to its own businessoperations), compared to 2019, and reducing scope 3 emissions by 30% (emissions up and downstream in its value chain), also compared to 2019. NOS is among the top four portuguese companies in the fight against climate change
NOS was assessed by the CDP – Disclosure, Insight, Action with an A score (the maximum level) for its performance and transparency in the fight against climate change, and was among the top four Portuguese companies participating. This was a distinction only achieved by 283 organizations worldwide, among the 18,700 assessed by the CDP in 2022. Obtaining the top score in the Leadership area, NOS exceeded the average of all companies assessed worldwide (C), as well as other European companies (B), and in particular in the Media, Telecommunications and Data Center Services sector (B). NOS achieves 4th highest ESG score among european telcos according to Moody’s ESG Solutions
NOS improved its performance in environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors compared to 2021 and is positioned as the fourth highest ranking company in the European telecommunications sector, according to the latest ESG Assessment carried out by Moody's ESG Solutions. In the 2022 edition, NOS strengthened its position in the “Advanced” level with a score of 66 out of 100, an increase of three points compared to 2021. Moody's ESG Solutions analyzed 1,623 companies across Europe, 31 of which in the telecommunications sector.


MSCI distinguishes the resilience of NOS to ESG risks
In 2021, Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI ESG ratings) gave NOS an AA rating with a score of 6.1, above the average for the sector (5.4). The objective of the evaluation is to measure the resilience of companies to ESG risks in the long term. Companies are classified according to scale relative to the industry/sector in which they operate, which varies between AAA and CCC.
